The U.S. has announced that they will provide a $100 Million aid package to Haiti after their disasterous earthquake. This is all being coordinated by the administrator for the Agency for International Development, Rajiv Shah. Read more about these efforts and Rajiv Shah's influential role.

Aamir’s Khan’s film opens your eyes & changes your attitude towards children. This movie portrays parenthood and the many issues that can be dealt with.

Though this movie tackles the subject of a dyslexic child, the message can apply to any child. Every child is different. That is so well picturized in this movie.

The movie goes on to show that there is so much pressure on the little children to do well in all aspects of life. That pressure can bury the child's own desire to do something different.

I would really recommend this movie for every parent. Not just parents but to everyone. This movie should be shown in all schools across India & abroad. As parents and teachers, it is important for us to help children by understanding them & not by pressuring them to perform well.

The first time I met G-Deep was about four years ago. I’m good friends with his cousin and he told me he wanted to introduce me to someone who sang…first he played his songs for me in the car and the next time I met the real deal. From the first time I met G-Deep, I knew that he was going to do a lot of big things; but I never thought that he was going to do a collabo with Wu-Tang Clan member, Cappadonna and R&B sensation Senjh. But if you believe in something with the same amount of passion and determination as G-Deep anything is possible.

Recently G-Deep shot the video for his forthcoming track, ‘Nach Le,’ at Fire & Ice in Woodbridge, NJ. With a storm storm heading their way, they didn’t let anything get in their way of making this smash-hit.

Anyways P Chops is currently filming Siddharth Anand's Anjaana-Anjaani in NYC, and with Shahid out of sight and out of mind... this is good for me. I am currently booking the Concorde to NYC with my friend Anand, we are going to be filming Hitch Part 2, the next few weeks.

Sure we've got Sendhil, Kal Penn, Ken Jeong, Mindy Kaling and a growing Asian presence in Hollywood, but according the latest SAG (Screen Actors Guild) stats reported in Variety.com, Hollywood is still lacking in representation.

According the findings, in 2007 minority performers had 29.3% of roles, which went down last year to 27.5%. As of 2008, out of all the film and tv roles offer 3.8% were Asian-Pacific Islanders, 6.4% Latino-Hispanic, 13.3% African-American, 0.3% Native American. On an interesting note male actors have continue to dominate film and tv and Asian-Pacific actors was the only minority group to make gains from 2007 to 2008, 3.4 to 3.8% respectively.

While shooting his next music video at the Gateway of India with Jermaine Jackson, Adnan Sami was seriously injured while hitting the side of a speedboat. The speedboat driver was taking his job very seriously and speeding through the water, but luckily Jermaine Jackson was not on the boat with them.

A few days after appearing on QVC with her new fashion collection, Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves head to Bollywood to shoot her upcoming, new show The Price of Beauty.  After breaking up with football, Tony Romo, packing on the pounds, and losing her dog to a coyote attack.  Simpson still finds the courage to get back to work and support the fight towards breast cancer awareness.

Asian artists are making waves in the music scene and R&B super group RDB or Rhythm Dhol Bass is front and center. RDB have been nominated for two Urban Music Awards. The British Asian group are competing with other bands such as The Noisettes and JLS for Best UK Asian Act and Best Band. RDB which is comprised of three brothers Manj,Kuly and Surj perform and produce Bhangra,Garage and Bollywood style music. Their most recent Bollywood song was with Akshay Kumar and rapper Snoop Dog for the title track of  "Singh is King".  

The group which has been performing and produce for more than a decade is thrilled at the nominations. "We are thrilled at the news. It's an honor that our work is getting recognized and we are pushing Asian music in the right way." said Sujr

It's been a year of firsts for the U.S and Barack Obama. First black president, first sitting president to win Nobel Peace Prize in 90 years and now the first president to have an active part at the White House's Diwali celebration. The relatively new tradition which started in 2003 by President Bush had Obama lighting a diya in front of a Hindu priest. According to the Telegraph UK part of the day also included the president signing an executive order which permits select government agencies to study how to best help Asian Americans. 

"While this is a time of rejoicing, it's also a time for reflection, when we remember those who are less fortunate and renew our commitment to reach out to those in need. " Obama said. 

In addition to celebrating Diwali, Obama's first state dinner will honor India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Last April the president called Singh "a wonderful man. He is a wise and decent man."

How is Bollywood celebrating? The industry is banking on three big "blockbusters: "Blue" with a cameo from pop superstar Kylie Minogue, "Main Aurr Mrs Khanna" and "All the Best".

Dr. Sanjay Gupta (also CNN's Chief Medical correspondent) has been making the rounds promoting his new book, "Cheating Death". Gupta who was on Stephen Colbert earlier this week cracked a few jokes with the host and just so happened to make a friendly jab at his network peer Larry King. As a Tonight Show guest with Conan O'Brien this Thursday, I'm wondering if the duo will collaborate for a funny bit about King. O'Brien is known for incorporating King into this skits ( If They Mated, Celebrity Surveys) often referencing his old age. We'll have to watch Thursday night for Sanjay's chat with Conan.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta appears on The Colbert Report in order to promote his new book, "Cheating Death." Gupta explains how there are ways to intervene in the process of death and hopefully reverse it. Gupta then goes on to explain the grey area that lies between life and death, and asks when do we truly know the time of death?

Famed Bollywood director Yash Chopra was named Asian filmmaker of the year at the Pusan International film festival in South Korea on Friday.  Chopra who is a revered and successful film director, writer, and producer in Bollywood also founded Yash Raj Films in 1970. He has worked with and helped shape the careers of some of  today's superstars including Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. Chopra reacted to the award telling the AP: "You have to prove that you're good once again. You are only as good as your last film." 

In an interview with Businessofcinema.com Chopra reveals he is at hard at work putting together a script for his next directorial venture, shooting down any rumors that he has cast Aamir Khan in his next film and also called Amitabh Bachchan "one of the most dedicated and sincere actors that we have."

Adam Yauch has fought for his right..to live. In July, one of the founding members of the wildly popular 80's hip-hop-punk rock group, "The Beastie Boys" was diagnosed with a cancerous growth in his left salivary gland and an adjacent lymph node (which he announced on the band's YouTube page)Yauch underwent surgery and then opted for more treatment visiting a Tibetan community in Dharamsala (in India).

Yauch also known as Adam "MCA" Yauch shared details about his treatment in a message to fans. He revealed that in addition to eating a vegan/organic diet and taking Tibetan medicine good timing allowed him to attend 3 days worth of Dalai Lama teachings. Yauch noted that he visited a nunnery where they performed a puja for him and told him, "We do prayers and then you are better." Yauch admits he is feeling healthy, strong, and hopeful", but didn't talk about a new release date for the already delayed album (which was set to drop Sept.15) "Hot Sauce Committee Part 1"

Jermaine Jackson, brother of Michael Jackson, walked the ramp for fashion designer Rajesh Aiya. Jackson is also in India to work on a collaboration with Adnan Sami, in which he is also shooting a video for.

As of Wednesday,Shiney Ahuja's case for allegedly raping his maid has been suspended till Oct.16th. The "Life In A Metro Star" was in jail for 110 days after his maid filed a series of complaints in June to the police: rape, wrongful confinement, and intimidation. According to several reports he was allowed to set bail by the High Court last week. One argument his lawyer has made in the case was that Shiney's DNA doesn't match his maid. 

The news of course shocked and shook several of his co-stars and past co-workers in Bollywood.  "Life In A Metro" co-star Shilpa Shetty acknowledged that all the facts were unknown saying, "but if it really happened it is sad". Director and producer who worked with Ahuja in the 2006 film "Gangster" shared his feelings when h first heard about the allegation,"Shiney is one of the few who has not only come home with his wife but who charmed my entire family. He was courteous, dignified and proper. But when it (the news of rape) comes to us via newspapers and television networks, it was nothing short of a shock."

The actor of course reeling from the on-going case was reported to have visited the Siddhivinayak Temple with his wife filmmaker Ashok Pandit in Mumbai offering his prayers before his trial on Wednesday. Shiney Ahuja has been in the film industry for a few years now, making his film debut in "Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi" for which he won a Filmfare Best Debut award. 

Recently, the Indian film director and producer, Mira Nair, auctioned off a dinner date with her for 5000 US dollars in order to help raise funds for charities that are working against domestic violence.  This was not the first time she was auctioned off; in a similar auction, she had raised 9000 US dollars for other charities.  Sounds as if the latest winner got her at a discounted price.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention issued a list today that listed the top ten foods that can you sick.  Millions of people are affected by foodborne illnesses, an estimated 76 million a year alone in the United States.  The list was actually quite shocking.  It seems that healthy eating may not be as healthy as we thought.  Here are some of the items the list is comprised of:

2. Eggs

3. Tuna

4. Oysters

5. Potatoes

6. Chesse

7. Ice Cream

8. Tomatoes

9. Sprouts

10. Berries

However, we shouldn't avoid these foods all together.  Instead, take precautions to make sure they are prepared properly.  Whether it is washing the fruits and vegetaables or making sure that the meat is brought to a temperature of 160.  With this people are less likely to contract any foodborne illness.
