ImaginAsian TV Launches Weekend South Asian Block
New South Asian Programming Block “Simply Desi” Featuring South Asian American Variety Show, Cricket, Talk Show, and News to Premiere October 20, 2007
NEW YORK, October 9, 2007 - ImaginAsian TV, America’s first 24-hour Asian American network, announced today that it will launch a new 3 ½ -hour South Asian block called “Simply Desi.” The block will feature PULSE - THE DESI BEAT, KOFFEE WITH KARAN, ICC CRICKET WORLD, NEWSWEEK SOUTH ASIA, and MY INDIA, and will premiere on October 20, 2007 at 8:30am PT.
“We are very excited about our new South Asian programming” said David Chu, SVP of Production and Programming at ImaginAsian TV. “The addition of this new block solidifies our commitment to quality multicultural programming and our goal to become the premier television destination for all things Asian.”
Scheduled to air on Saturdays from 8:30am - 12pm PT/ET and on Sundays from noon to 3:30pm PT/ET, “Simply Desi” will featuring the following programs:
Pulse - the desi beat
Pulse is iaTV’s original South Asian magazine-style entertainment show that combines viewer-requested music videos with hosted segments about Bollywood and South Asian American events, culture, entertainment, and more. Viewers are also drawn into the show with interactive contests and voting.
Koffee with Karan
Koffee with Karan is India’s biggest celebrity chat show hosted by India’s highly talented filmmaker Karan Johar. It is one of India’s most popular shows and gives a peek into the personal lives of the most successful and popular Indian personalities from every field.
ICC Cricket World
ICC Cricket World is the official weekly program of cricket’s highest authority, the International Cricket Council. It is the only weekly program of its kind to have full access to the sport and its participants, comprehensively covering all aspects of world cricket.
